Sublimation (Wood Effect Powder Coating)
Sublimation has been part of our industry for approximately two decades and it has in fact made a significant contribution in the areas discussed below.
When applied, this coating method combines the durability of metal with the beauty of wood.
Wood effect powder coating using the sublimation method – to use the scientific term – is a combination of electrostatic coating and two more stages of special treatment.
Since 1999, when we installed the first sublimation plant, significant interventions were made by Analko’s people to further develop this application, thus improving points that were initially problematic.
This style has been applied in several regions across Greece, which have been designated as traditional settlements and are required to use wooden frames. The accuracy of the imitation is such that it is difficult to tell the aluminium apart from wood, even by touching it.
Analko is one of the first companies in the country to have installed a sublimation plant with its very own WOODinAL system. Through this system it has provided exceptional applications for major projects across Europe.
We are also one of the first companies in Greece to have certified wood colours to the Qualideco certificate.
Sublimation Method - Application
- After the electrostatic coating process is completed, the profiles are taken to Analko’s WOODinAL décor department, where each bar is wrapped in a special film on which the selected wood décor has been printed with solid ink.
- The air is then removed by vacuum suction in order to attach the film to the bars, and the bars are rolled into the oven along with the trolley they have been placed on. There the ink is liquefied as the pores of the powder open (substrate).
- Subsequently, the ink penetrates the pores of the powder, thus forming wood grains.
- Once the bars are removed from the oven, we remove the film residues and they are then ready for use.
